This present set of weekly blogs is focussing on the 5 principles of Reiki with last week being “Just for today do not anger”. It was so interesting how the entire week has seemed to see the drama of anger playing out in the media and social networks. We live in a world filled with anger and as people get sucked into it, it leads to hatred.
As Reiki practitioners we are encouraged to practise this ‘no anger’ on a daily basis. a positive phrase to describe this principle is “Just for today I am gentle and calm”.
Now onto today’s blog: Just for today do not worry. The positive phrase for this principle is: “Just for today I trust”
When we worry we have lost faith. We are no longer able to see the big picture or trust in what is happening to us. We worry about the future and try to control it in order to protect ourselves from pain. Mostly we worry because we don’t believe that the world is full of abundance and we feel that we have to fight for everything we want.
Here is something practical to try:
Just for today, choose something that has been worrying you, and just for today don’t worry about it. Ask the Divine for help with it instead. The best part is that it is just for today. We can do something for one day that if we thought we had to do for a lifetime would feel overwhelming.
